Indiana Jones 5 is something that fans both want and don’t want at the same time. We all love Harison Ford whose charisma and amazing ability to play laid back characters with strong personalities allowed him to create iconic images over the course of his long career. The next film in the Indiana Jones franchise must deliver a satisfying end to Indi’s arc.
Interestingly enough, Harrison Ford revealed that the new movie will not only bring something new to the table in terms of character growth but also explore the backstory of the character and add some depth to his persona.
Mr. Ford said that the fans will “see new developments in his life, his relationship…” and also added that fans will learn about the mysterious past of the famed archaeologist. It is not much to munch on and does not give us a definitive answer in regards to what direction the movie will take. However, we should expect the return of Marion Ravenwood and maybe even Indi’s son portrayed by Shia LaBoeuf in 2008.
The script is being produced by Jonathan Kasdan and David Koepp who stated recently that they had some good ideas to work with and added “this time.” It means that screenwriters acknowledge the backlash that the previous movie in the franchise received from the fans who did not appreciate hasty storytelling and questionable choices in terms of character development.
Harrison Ford also said that he is always happy to return back to his iconic roles and that he feels a responsibility in regards to the quality of the product that he and the creative team behind the camera are producing at any moment.
Note that Kathleen Kennedy recently stated that the new movie will pick up the story right after the conclusion of the 2008 movie. The production of the movie will be given to Steven Spielberg who is working on West Side Story at the moment. Remember that Mr. Ford is also busy with promoting The Call of the Wild.
We have to expect something epic from Indiana Jones 5. As Harrison Ford stated, Indi will not continue living on without his actor.
