When Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame, the whole world was really sad that a cultural icon is leaving the MCU for good. However, his legacy and the footprint of the character will remain embedded in the world. One of the most apparent examples of what Tony Stark meant for the franchise is that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is now the next potential technogeek of the team and possibly even the strategist! He is an inventor by nature.

Despite him being quite smart and resourceful in his own right as shown in Homecoming, Spiderman received a multitude of upgrades to his suit from Tony Stark. The latest iteration of the suit — the Iron Spider — was supposed to debut in Far From Home yet we did not see Peter Parker rocking his futuristic costume equipped with nanotech-powered spider legs and other whistles and bells. Instead, he used a slightly improved regular spiderman costume during his final showdown with Mysterio.

The lack of the Iron Spider was not something fans criticized although it was noticed that there was an apparent absence of the scene from the trailer in which Spiderman jumps out with his now-iconic metal legs protruding behind his back. The whole scene was cut due to the desire of the director to keep the “flow of the movie” steady. John Watts who sat in the directorial chair on the set of Far From Home did not think that having the suit was necessary for the pacing and storytelling.

The scene was a short montage of “mundane” things that Peter Parker had to do before traveling to Europe. For example, he crashed on the mafia family and took down a couple of criminals while also searching for the earphones splitter so prominently used as a little neat plot device during the flight to Europe. The whole scene ended up on the cutting floor as it conflicted with the pacing of the film in general.

Don’t worry as you will have a chance to take a look at the suit if you buy the Blu-ray. The scene will be added as bonus materials.
