Cheryl Sanders is well-known by many fans of old school action and adventure movies. She was in many great films including Back to The Future II and Lethal Weapon as well as many others. While many stunt performers are often forgotten by moviegoers and even Oscars still don’t recognize their craft as something pivotal to the movie production process, we still have to acknowledge them and mourn them when they leave our world.
A week ago, Robert Reed and his wife Cheryl Sanders were coming back home and ambushed by a group of armed thugs. Lindsay Duncan, the ex-husband of Cheryl Sanders, is believed to be a part of the crime group responsible for the homicide. Sanders and her husband were shot dead next to their residence.
The friends of Sanders says that the crime was likely connected to finances. Mr. Duncan and Mrs. Cheryl Sanders established a fund for their daughters’ education. After going through a divorce, they argued about the fund and how it should be used. Note that there also was a legal feud between the two. In 2016, Lindsay sued Sanders for defamation and damage done to his brand (Genesis Today, a fitness company).
Cheryl Sanders was an experienced stuntwoman and worked on multiple great action flicks starting with Fatal Beauty in 1987. She also did most of the female stunts for all movies in the Lethal Weapon franchise. Her career spans over three decades with incredible work in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, the 2000s hit Charlie’s Angels, and the first Thor in the MCU. She also worked on the set of Dark Places helping the team behind Charlize Theron’s latest movies.
Currently, the homicide is being investigated.
