The Super Bowl trailer for the Fast and Furious 9 movie was a cavalcade of action scenes and introductions of cool characters that fans were more than excited to learn about. With a bunch of explosions, helicopters, jumping from cliffs, and destruction, the biggest “WTH!” moment was definitely the sudden appearance of Han who seemed deader than ever in one of the previous movies. On top of that, the trailer showed John Cena who will be portraying Dom’s brother Jacob.
Obviously, the bombastic character of the trailer led to elevated levels of excitement amongst hardcore fans of the franchise and managed to spike a lot of rumors and discussions on the internet. Many surprises put in the trailer also added to the hype train’s acceleration. The F9 trailer managed to accumulate over 500 million views on all social media platforms breaking multiple records and upping the numbers of ticket pre orders.
Vin Diesel expressed his feelings about the trailer back in December of 2019 when it was produced and prepared for distribution. His feelings were once again touched in February when the trailer broke records and caused a tsunami of positive responses. Vin Diesel celebrated the occasion by posting a cool image of the car flying from the cliff with a caption saying “500M VIEWS.”
Other actors also expressed their gratitude for the positivity shown by the community of fans. Jamie Foxx and Nathalie Foxx commented or posted similar responses to the massive number of views accumulated by the trailer. Mr. Diesel decided to talk about the occasion as well as his other projects in a very short video blog he posted on Instagram. He talked about the XXX franchise, his involvement with The Last Witcher and said that he is working on Bloodshot to make it a great experience for viewers.
Interestingly enough, Sung Kang who plays the role of Han hinted at his possible return not long ago. With the ensemble getting back together, we could possibly even see the Rock returning to reprise his role in the F&F franchise in the “anniversary” film of the series.
